Current Risk To Canadians From The Public Health Agency of Canada

January 6th, 2022 COVID-19 is a serious health threat, and the situation is evolving daily. The risk will vary between and within communities, but given the increasing number of cases in Canada, the risk to Canadians is considered high.

This does not mean that all Canadians will get the disease. It means that there is already a significant impact on our health care system. If we do not flatten the epidemic curve now, the increase of COVID-19 cases could impact health care resources available to Canadians.

Message From former Ontario Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the honourable Ernie Hardeman

Dear Friends:

As the COVID-19 situation evolves in Ontario, Canada and around the world, the health and well-being of Ontarian’s is our government’s number one priority, including food processors and everyone who works within the food supply chain.

I wanted to take a moment to reach out and thank you for doing the critical work you’re doing in these unprecedented times.

Thank you for continuing to show up to work every day. Thank you for working long hours to help our province through these challenging conditions. And thank you for ensuring people across Ontario can be confident they’ll have access to food at this time of uncertainty. You truly are our agri-food heroes.

Our government is here to support you as we all do our part to help the people and the businesses that keep food on the shelves and on kitchen tables for the people of Ontario.

Again, thank you for all your hard work during these uncertain times. Your contributions are an essential part of Ontario’s efforts to respond to COVID-19 and we are deeply grateful.

Sincerely,

Ernie Hardeman

Former Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs
